My wife and I just returned from a very relaxing cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. We left the cold, gloomy February weather in New York City, traveled through beautiful and eerie sea smoke, had lunch with my in-laws in Cocoa Beach, took in the perfect weather of the Bahamas, and experienced the incredible maritime exhibition at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau.
Like our last cruise in May, I was armed with my Leica M9, but added my new iPhone 4S into the arsenal. To make it even better, I was armed with the very cool olloclip lens to add a little more ‘oomph’ to my pictures.
All my photos from this trip can be viewed here on Flickr.

how fun! and what great pics to have for memories.
Great photos! I love the reflection shot you took in the mirror and I especially love the stormy photos of the sea.
Going on a cruise is something I’d definitely try. It looks so fun and amazing. Nice photos.
Nice photos! And you took them with a phone? That is amazing!
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!
Thank you!
The fisheye’d photos were taken with my iPhone, using the olloclip lens. The rest were with my Leica.
Very cool! Now sit back and just keep refreshing your stats and watch the views just roll in…..
Beautiful pix! Looks like you experienced some rough seas…at least you didn’t have a “showboating” captain like that horrific Italian cruise seemed to have…
awesome pictures!! and it really looks like you had a blast and it seems like a nice cruise.. Thanks for sharing!!
Great pictures!! I just returned from a cruise to the bahamas today and dreading my flight back to cold Chicago tomorrow.
Love these photos! Love the stormy sea pics!

Beautiful photos. I especially love the 9th from the top, with the toes peeping out from under the balcony.
I loved the picture of you two in the room!
I like that ocean shot you got. you were lucky the fog was out there that day huh? It’s hard to find photos like that online. I should know cause i look all the time. You might be able to make money with that one but you probably already know that since your a photographer right -,o

You’re a lucky man, Bryan….
Wow, some awesome shots! I love the pictures of the water with the spray or “smoke” as you called it. The one in the elevator with the iPhone is great too! I recently took a cruise with my wife to the Bahamas for 4 days as well. Beautiful down there.
Awesome shots! I absolutely love the 3rd one.

Beautiful photos! I am a WordPress photographer as well. Great job.
I went on this same cruise, but different liner. Had an awesome time. Photos are super cool. I remember those views.
These photos are stunning and your work is awesome. Keep clicking, I’ll follow.
Really cool pictures! Thanks so much!
I love the photos of my hometown! I love to see Freedom Tower rising in the skyline and, you took a photo of someting that is most sentimental to me: the Staten Island Ferry!
I am very happy for you. It looks like you had an awesome…..I’ve been waiting and planning to go on a cruise all year with my colleagues and something always comes up. Loved the pictures and miss the weather.
Looks like fun! We keep saying we’ll go one of these days. One of these days can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned.

Ahhhhmazing pictures! I have a regular canon dslr, but I just got a Sony NEX-5N and I am stoked to really get to try it! I actually bought it for a cruise, so it would be easier to carry around!

Oh My, I love oceans and always wanted to go for a cruise and sail on a big ship, unfortunately my other half is never keen on the idea. I am enjoying your breathtaking photos. Thank you and keep us posted. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing pictures, especially the shots of “Sea Smoke”. Awesome job!
Great photos on the iphone! Bahamas is the best escape from brutal winters. Lucky!
The picture of the cow made of towels was a jewel among these many great shots. Thank you for sharing. What a great memory to carry into your old age.
Fantastic shots. Almost makes me want to go on a cruise. Almost.

Beautiful pictures. I love seeing the cruise ship through your lens.
Beautiful, I like the fish effect
Wow! Great photos! I’ve always wanted to visit Bahamas. It’s in my bucket list. I wanna have my second honeymoon there. Hopefully next year after I finish exploring Philippines. We have great beaches here, too!
love your photos.. had the chance too of sailing from Brazil to Italy and the feeling is great since it was summer and the sea is calm… really enjoyed taking photos, meeting new people, knowing other culture, enjoying the view… congrats on being FP.
These are gorgeous! I love the ones that show the sea, really beautiful atmosphere.
Great pictures! Norwegian is a great product…
Excellent pictures – I particularly like the towel dog.
You didn’t come across any Bahamian writers on your travels? I still need one for A Year of Reading the World (http://ayearofreadingtheworld.com/)
Thank you! I’m the wrong person to ask that question to, sorry. I’m a fairly poor reader ; )
No worries – you can’t do it all.
Wow man it’s beautiful really
I like that first sea smoke photo a lot. I would love to go to the Bahamas although I am not sure I would enjoy a cruise but maybe I will try it out someday. The only cruise I have been on was a schooner cruise when I was 17 around the San Juan Islands in Washington. The passengers got to be the crew. It was amazing! I wish I had had a camera at the time.
grandiose!!!!
Have never seen anything like the smoke on the water before. Incredible! But honestly, all of your work is remarkable and you have a gift.
Bryan, I’m sure you sang this song – “I…had the time of my l-aa-aa–ife, and I never felt this way before” Didn’t you??
Great trip brother !! Cheers

Those are some really great pictures. I recently went on a cruise to the Bahamas myself (with Carnival, pre-accident) and had a blast! The weather was great and the ship was so much fun. Love that towel animal (elephant?) you got yourself there. Those are the best.

SO NICE!find your blog in wordpress.the pisc so beautiful and i wanna buy iphone too.again thanks your sharing.
These pictures are incredible. I can’t wait to go to the Bahamas next spring now
Awesome post! Crusies are awesome, that is, if your cruise isn’t going to Mexico when “swine flu” decides to blow(my experience). Although the crusie was only a few days, it was more than enough. The endless food really starts to take a toll on your eating habits. I pretty much snacked all day! ha
If anybody’s interested, I’m taking on a journey to achieve 6 pack abs. Any support/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

WOW you have sucha great photographers eye! I enjoyed everyone of these artistic photos <333
I really like your photography. I feel like I was there on the cruise ship myself.
All my life I’ve wanted to take a cruise, and I will someday, even if it means me sneaking onto one without anyone noticing (which won’t happen knowing my luck :p).
I hope you had a magical cruise, and post some more photography soon!

Great pictures! Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed!
Really cool pics of the “sea mist” rising from the ocean. I didn’t get that on my cruise from Texas to Mexico. My great memory of that cruise is standing on the bow, spotting the flying fish which were disturbed by the ship, jumping out of the water and flying 100 yards away to escape, then diving back into the water. I wish I had a photo or video of that. Do you have any more pics of the Atlantis resort? I want to go there someday.
cool pig
nice weather
amazing job Bryan
LOVE that first picture of the sea smoke!
Looks like a grand time! . . . Remarkable photos!

Great effect with the lens – wicked pictures!
Great photos!
And that is why it is said that a picture says thousand words.
Cruised to the Bahamas twice on Carnival. Enjoyed it both times. Would love to expericence other cruise lines. Great photos!!!!!!!
looks beautiful, you are so lucky.
Interesting photos, but the ones you selected here don’t exemplify that beauty of the Bahamas, unless you had bad weather the entire time. Also, there’s a little too much editing for my taste. The colors are unnatural. I wonder what they look like in their original state.
Hi, thank you for your comment. When I normally take cruises, I’m actually more fascinated with the actual voyage and “cruise culture”… the boat (especially in the early hours when everyone is mostly asleep), the crew, the other travelers… the actual destination is more of a side note for us, especially when you have limited time in a given port. The Bahamas are absolutely beautiful. We had perfect, warm weather when we were there and took full advantage of the beaches. For myself, if I really wanted to document the island to it’s full extent, I would need to be there for several days. We were having such a good time, sometimes you just have to put the camera away. I became more interested in shooting the gloomier side as we left NYC in cold, cloudy weather. I thought that was a great contrast to the sunniness of what we were going to. As for the editing, I can totally jive with that!
Great photos, especially the one of the shark. But I agree with graciehart1 about the colors. Not necessarily “unnatural” but maybe a little “cold”. The photos ARE good though.
Love the fish eye lens photos. Hard to believe that’s with an iPhone! Great look, especially the shark. Cool.
great…
WOW! I Love all of those Photos. I am an aspiring Photographer and these are some of the best I have ever seen! Plus, they are taken in one if my Favorite Places…. on an NCL Cruise!
Fantastic pictures… I love the sea smoke photo much!:)
